Counselling Services

Crandall University is committed to the academic and personal development of all students. Everybody faces difficult times in their lives and we are here to help Crandall students navigate some of the challenges that arise.

We provide confidential mental health services to undergraduate and graduate students to help foster strong mental health and to help students learn healthy life skills. These services are currently offered through face-to-face appointments or via Zoom. Our counsellors can provide assessments, counselling services and/or referrals. We can help students dealing with a variety of needs, such as: depression, anxiety, academic stress, grief, relationships and more.

Our goal is to help students learn to be the healthiest versions of themselves and to help set them up with skills that will help them throughout their whole life.

    Our Counsellors

    Sarah Fletcher, BSW, MSW, RSW

Sarah joined the Crandall University community in 2020. Sarah runs her own private practice, Made to Thrive Counselling. Prior to opening her own counselling agency, she had worked for non-profit counselling agencies in Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton. She graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2007 and went on to complete her Masters of Social Work degree from Dalhousie University in 2011.

Sarah has experience working with youth and adults providing individual and couples counselling. She helps clients deal with such issues as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, conflict, stress management, relationship issues and more. Her approach to counselling often involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Solution Focused Therapy. She is passionate about helping people learn skills to improve their lives and to help them see hope for the future. Sarah has volunteered extensively with various organizations working with children and youth, and is very involved in her local church. She enjoys being active out in nature, reading, and spending time with her husband and their three sons.

    Bethany Robertson MEd, CCC

Bethany graduated from the University of New Brunswick’s Counselling program in the fall of 2022. She currently splits her time between counselling at Touchstone Counselling Group and Crandall University. With a passion for people and a genuine curiosity, Bethany often uses a person-centred approach to counselling, and implements Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to creatively approach problems that lead clients towards self-actualization. Bethany feels strongly that every client is unique, and strives to build strong rapport that encourages change. When working with children and youth, it is not uncommon for Bethany to use art and play as therapeutic approaches. In her spare time, you can find Bethany in nature, performing musical theatre, working out, or enjoying the company of a good book.
