You can now donate to Crandall via eTransfer – simply send your gift to firstname.lastname@example.org and then send an email to confirm your mailing address so we can send a receipt. You may indicate the designated fund for your gift in the email as well.
Gifts of cash and pre-authorized debits are the easiest way to give. You’ll receive a charitable tax receipt that will provide you with savings on your tax return. You can either make a one-time gift to Crandall through cash, cheque, money order, or credit card; or, you can give monthly through pre-authorized debits (withdrawn on either the 1st or 15th of each month).
Gifts of publicly traded securities are donations of stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. Since May 2006, the Income Tax Act has provided extra cash savings on capital gains for listed securities if they’re transferred to Crandall as a gift. Making a gift through this way can help you avoid paying capital gains tax that would otherwise be due if you sold these assets.
A gift of life insurance is the donation of a paid-up insurance policy or the gift of a policy that requires on-going premiums to maintain. It’s an affordable way to give a substantial gift to Crandall.
Non-cash gifts are also known as a gift-in-kind. For instance, a gift of your real property can make a great gift. If you own appreciated real property, you can avoid paying capital gains tax by making a gift to Crandall. Gifts of services may not be acknowledged with official receipts for income tax purposes.
Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs) and Registered Retired Income Funds (RRIFs) often include family members or other significant loved ones as beneficiaries. However, if you’re confident that your family is provided for, you can include a charity in your RRSP or RRIF plan.
A bequest is a gift of property by Will. It allows donors to make a generous future gift to Crandall that will benefit the whole community. Bequests can be made through outright gifts of cash, through pledges (certain amounts over stipulated periods), or through a testamentary trust.

Each restricted contribution designated towards a board-approved program or project will be used as designated, with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason determined by the board, the remaining restricted contributions designated for such program(s) or project(s) will be used where needed most.
